Joelle Kanyana

Hello! My name is Joelle, and I am one of four daughters raised by Burundian parents. I was born in Ghana and raised in the United States. Those cultural intersections cultivated a sense of being a global citizen in me. Most of my education took place in Tennessee, a place conducive for an appreciation of nature and live music. Upon earning my bachelor’s degrees in finance and international studies, I took a role in hospital finance in Florida, where I currently live and work.

“You walk out what you believe” is the realization that motivates my enthusiasm for mental wellbeing. Wellness starts in the mind, and I have benefited from trained mental health practitioners, even when I had no idea what I needed. I truly believe that quality mental health education will change the world. However, it must first be made accessible to all. These are the reasons why I am passionate about Mysuspire. When I need to recharge and reset my mind, you will find me on a walk surrounded by tall trees, wildflowers and the sounds of birds.
